Ryohin Keikaku and JERA Establish Renewable Power Producer MUJI ENERGY on September 1

TOKYO-September 1, 2025- Ryohin Keikaku Co., Ltd. (“Ryohin Keikaku”) and JERA Co., Inc. (“JERA”) have jointly established a special purpose company (SPC), MUJI Energy LLC (“MUJI ENERGY”), today to engage in renewable power projects such as the development of solar power generation facilities.

All of the environmental value of electricity produced by MUJI ENERGY will be acquired by Ryohin Keikaku via JERA subsidiary JERA Cross Co., Inc. through a virtual PPA1 and utilized to reduce CO2 emissions from electricity consumption at locations such as MUJI tenant stores.

MUJI ENERGY plans to develop approximately 13MW of solar generation capacity within a year of its establishment. Equivalent to 20% of Ryohin Keikaku’s annual electricity consumption, this is projected to reduce CO2 emissions by approximately 8,000 tons per year.
