Shizuoka City has set the goal of achieving “net-zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050.” Citizens, businesses, and the administration are working together to advance initiatives toward this net-zero greenhouse gas emissions target. JERA Cross, a subsidiary of JERA—Japan's largest power generator—provides one-stop solutions under its mission of “Transforming Decarbonization from Cost to Value.” This includes developing GX strategy roadmaps that translate into tangible value for municipalities and businesses, through to actual power supply, advancing GX transformation together.

This agreement establishes a framework for Shizuoka City and JERA Cross to collaborate in promoting the introduction of renewable energy generation facilities in Shizuoka City's public facilities and co-creating decarbonization solutions. It aims to advance initiatives leveraging Shizuoka City's regional characteristics. Through this agreement, both parties will explore the following:

  • Introduction of renewable energy facilities in Shizuoka City's public facilities and development of a co-creation scheme

  • Initiatives to achieve Shizuoka City's goal of “Net-Zero Greenhouse Gas Emissions by 2050”

  • Other initiatives contributing to achieving Shizuoka City's urban development goals

Moving forward, both parties will promote the medium- to long-term utilization and decarbonization of Shizuoka City's public facilities through concrete measures and demonstrations, advancing toward the achievement of the “Net-Zero Greenhouse Gas Emissions by 2050” goal.
